Belt, Chain, or Jackshaft
The drive type is the single biggest factor in how loud your opener is. Here's the honest comparison.
Reinforced rubber belt instead of a metal chain. Noticeably quieter, smoother operation, and less vibration into the home. Small premium over chain drive, almost always worth it for attached garages.
Metal chain drive is the most affordable option and perfectly reliable. The trade-off is noise. Chain drives rattle and vibrate more than belt drives, so they are better for detached garages.
Wall-mounted beside the door rather than on a ceiling track. Silent operation, maximized ceiling clearance, and a clean look. Great for premium garages or homes where noise is a priority.

Every opener installation includes removal of the old opener, installation of the new unit, spring balance check, remote programming, keypad setup, and safety sensor configuration.
Smart openers also include phone app setup when the platform supports it. If the garage door itself needs adjustment before installation, we explain that first.

Opener Installation FAQ
Most installations take 1.5–2.5 hours including removal of the old unit, installation, balance check, and full configuration of remotes, keypad, and myQ app setup.
Not necessarily. If your existing opener is in good condition and properly powered for the new door, we'll reuse it. We'll assess compatibility at the time of install and give you an honest answer.
myQ is LiftMaster and Chamberlain's proprietary platform. It gives you open, close, and status control from your phone, activity alerts, and integration with smart home systems. It works reliably and we configure it at install so you leave with it already set up on your phone.
Older remotes using Security+ 1.0 frequency are generally not compatible with new openers. We include two new remotes with every installation and program them before we leave. Keypads are reprogrammed or replaced as needed.
